Project Progress....

Today I worked on the last picture for my project. I started putting the pictures and organizing them.

Today I was able to finish up two typography documents, one that says glow and the other one that says supernova burst. I will keep on working on the other two later in the week and start working on putting them all together by the end of this week.

Today I was able to get done a typography thing for my project. Its the word glow which glows a lot and is almost done. I got some help from the internet but i eventually made it an original work.

Today

I worked on photo manipulation and tried my best in finishing what I was working on. I haven't started on the project just yet, i need to work on organizing what i want to put on ht project and drawing out the plan in order to get started.

Today i worked in illustrator but it was really hard to work in. During the week we'll work on it more and it will eventually get easier.

Pixel Vs. Vector

Photoshop creates pixel based images, and Adobe Illustrator creates vector based images.

Pixels: Images created using pixels and are resolution dependent.

Vector: Images defined by mathematical equations and are resolution independent.


Resolution independence is the concept that elements from the computer screen can be drawn independent from the pixel grid.
Resolution dependent is the concept that elements from the computer are depended from the pixel grid.

Today

Today i read an article about chine and talked about it on my blog, It was very interesting. After that i worked on photoshop trying to make a typography of Emma Watsons face, which I am not finished yet. I got some help from some friends and i was able to finish some parts.

Inside the War Against China's Blogs

As an individual I believe that the chinese companies have acted very unprofessional. With such unprofessionalism daqi has been very dishonest and the integrity shown on the blogging world has changed for the worst. Even though they try to fix the problem by doing everything they can they are only adding to it. I feel like the way they use other companies in order to gain better profit and wealth is unacceptable. They cant use their own ideas, they "have" to use other ideas from other companies and use them for themselves. This has some dictatorship in it, this results in a very nasty form of government in China. These acts only deteriorate to an unstable government that is still trying to mature. The flames of Communism have started to flare up and the signs for a future of crisis is beginning. With such flames of Communism, the developing country will suffer greatly along with all its inhabitants. All these little things affect how people on the internet see daqi as well as what China has been doing. They see it as an act of intolerance and for the sake of a better tomorrow many people have started to step it up and try to put an end to all these problems. This company is only trying to gain sympathy from others in order to show that what they are doing is for the better. They believe that all the things they have done have been good for the country, that nothing has actually "hurt" it. The internet and the blogs have said a completely different story. They have shared their opinions on blogs about what daqi has been doing, and how they see it. Unfortunately daqi can asses what the comments have said and can stop them before they flare up. So far daqi has been doing bad things, that i believe.

Typography

Typography is what language looks like, typography is just words written all over the place in different styles. I think that big companies pay artists typographic work because thats a way to get peoples attention and eventually getting them interested in their work. It works as a type of advertisement. Typography can really get people hooked into your work, they get really interested in what they are looking at that they want more. I think that graffiti is typography because its what language looks like, its all whole bunch of words written in different styles that get peoples attention. Typography looks really cool, it really got my attention the very first time I saw it, today, and made me want to do that too. Its very interesting and very unique.

This was done in photoshop in order to make it look like this. I changed colors, backgrounds, and used pens in order to trace and make it look like this.

Today i was able to change a tiger picture in order to make it look nicer. I used photoshop and followed really easy instructions and was able to get the picture in after. I changed colors, curves, smooth color and put a border around it. It didn't take that long. 

Second Six Weeks Reflection

I feel like i've been really productive these past weeks, I was able to get all of my work done and turned in on time. I followed what had to be done on the activities and was able to post them on the blog for them to get graded. My work habits have been not so good, I was called by the teacher to get on task about 3 times and that was It. Even though I got" distracted" I was still able to finish my job and get a pretty good grade. I learned a lot of things during the 2nd 6 weeks, I learned how to work on pages, photoshop, how to work with colors, the blog, and how to use iphoto. These are some of the many things I learned so far in multimedia. I wonder what else we are going to do.

Today i worked on a mini quiz and got a nice grade. After this I worked on a picture in photoshop as you see up here, Its was a husky at first until it got drafted by the dallas cowboys. He aims to be in the superbowl 45.       http://www.dreamstime.com/husky-image16126384

Today I worked on photoshop and was able to get some nice photos shopped. I learned how to put it in photoshop and change the colors, contrast, texture, and everything in order to change the photo and make it look completely different from the original. I liked working on photoshop and next class I'll probably work more on it.

Spectrometry RGB and CMYK

1. How do you think the Spectrometer works?

          It works by using different lights hitting the specific color in order to get the amount of light being reflected by it.

2. Were there any unexpected results? What were they?

          There were't any unexpected results.

3. Were there any differences between the different printers?

          Yes

4. Compare the printed color sheet to the one linked in the blog. What differences due you notice in the RGB display versus the CMYK printout.

          The RGB colors are more brighter than the CMYK colors on the printout. 

   

5. Did you notice the Hex Codes for each color. Would you say Hex codes have more in common with RGB or CMYK? Explain.

         The CYMK values because the hex codes are more similar and are closely related to them in the table.

6. Do you think the use of spectrometry is important for publishers? Why or why not?

           Yes because they need it in order to experiment with the different colors that they need and see which one is better, the one that would be better to use. 

7. What sort of consequences may arise if spectrometers were not used in publishing?

             The right color wouldn't be used and the final product would be messed up.

The edits that were made were changing the vignette to 2 as well as the boost color. Retouching the bottom left hand corner, adjusting the temperature, definition, contrast, shadows and saturations. 

Colors

Today I learned about the colors and how only red, green and blue are used as the standard colors and how in order to make other colors you have to make combinations of the three. We were able to find different colors by combining the three of them and learning the right combinations in order to get them. I also used i photo and played around with it and edited a photo of a panda.

Today i was able to finish my project, all i have to o is put it up on the blog.

Today i was able to work more on my itinerary and added a bit more things than i had written down. I added more pictures on the project and arranged them in order to make it look more presentable.

Today I was able to finish my brochure and I have posted it on my blog with the link above. Now all I have to do is keep on updating my work log and bibliography and work on the itinerary.

Colombia Today

Today i was able to finish my brochure. I decided not to put it on my bog since i might change something's here and there. aI was also able to update my bibliography and my work log on the entire project.

I like this brochure because it really catches my attention because of the way it's made. The front of this brochure would grab anyones attention because you are wondering what's going to be inside of it. 

 I like this brochure because it has vary interesting pictures that grab my attention right off the bat. Like the other one, the front of the brochure grabs the attention on anyone because its very well decorated with a nice background color. 

Colombia Today

Today i was able to get 50% of the brochure completed and saved. I changed some of the things I had before in order to make it look professional and well organized. I also checked out some different brochures that were examples so that I could get some ideas of what I could do on mine.

1st 6 Weeks Reflection

So far i have learned how to use pages in multimedia, as well as the different kinds of applications that the macs have. I learned about different key terms used in this class as well. Another thing that I got to do was to create my own blog, which I have never done before. I was able to make it and play around with the different things that it has to offer. I am still trying to understand more about the mac and the applications that it has, still macs are okay.

Colombia Reflection

Today I started on my brochure and put in some pictures in it. I also looked at others people project to see what they looked liked. Some really got my attention and they actually looked pretty good. I commented on some of them as well. I am very close to finishing it.

Today I was able to finally finish the first part of my project. All i had to do today was finish up my bibliography and post the project on my blog. Posting it wasn't as difficult as I thought It would. All I had to do was follow the instructions and I was able to post It without a problem. Now all thats left for me to do Is to then work on my brochure and put the finishing touches on the project.

First Time Working on Colombia

Today I was able to start and finish the title page, table of contents, and work log for my project. All I need to do next time is work on putting the finishing touches on these pages and start working on the bibliography. I finished a lot and I took a lot of pressure off me.

Colombia Project

Today I was able to sketch my itinerary of Colombia. I was also able to start on the cover page for the project, I was also able to finish my rough drafts. Today was really simple.

I think that today I was able to accomplish a lot, even though me and david were messing around with the photo booth application. I felt like i learned a bit more today about how ill be using pages to create my brochure, and make it look professional. I was able to sketch and have a good solid idea about how i want my project to look like. My ideas were solid and to the point. Some difficulties here and there but by following the directions I was able to get around them.

Colombia Trip

My country is going to be about Colombia.  I'm going to be making a brochure that talks about my visit to Colombia, the culture, foods, different buildings, beaches , and many more. I'm going to plan a 13-15 day trip and talk about different things. I'll explain the costs, what will be happening there, where to go, and how to dress.

Stock Photography

1. Stock photography is a stock of photos that are collected and used instead of hiring a professional photographer.

2. We can't just use random images off online websites because it could result in the image being copyrighted.

Colombia Trip

I chose to take a trip to Colombia. I'll be talking and researching about its culture, environment, transportation, foods, entertainment, and little stuff like that. I have been looking at some of its beaches, foods, and what its popular for. So far I'm not so sure where to begin and how long I'm going to take but i'll look into it.

Netiquette

Scenario #1- A student sends a harassing e-mail to another student. The receiving student
retaliates with a “flaming e-mail.” Is this the appropriate response? If not, what would be?
      This is not the appropriate response. What the student should do is delete his contact and email and not to send him more emails, that'll make him do it more, ignore him.

Scenario #2-When hanging out with friends, one of the students makes a call on their cellphone and carries on a conversation while still within the group. Is this ok? Why or why not?
      Its okay because he may be calling his parents to tell them something important or because its an emergency. 


Scenario #3 – A student logs on to a free file sharing website and downloads a song they just heard on the radio. Is this ok? Why or why not
      As long as he's not at school its okay because its free. 


Scenario #4 – A student follows a questionable link to a website and downloads a malicious script which releases a Trojan Horse virus on to the school network. Is the student to blame? Why or why not?
       The student is to blame because he downloaded a malicious script without the teachers consent and without asking a question as to wether to downloaded. 


Scenario #5 – An hour before class, a student remembers that a writing assignment is due. The student goes to the library, logs on to a website, and copies/pastes the information. Is this ok? Why or why not?
      Its not okay because he is plagiarizing. 


Scenario #6 – At home, a student uses a software package to copy movies and games from DVD’s for his or her friends. Is this within fair-use laws? Explain.
     Its illegal because he is copying a copyrighted work, he is pirating movies, games and dvd's , which is illegal in this country. 


Scenario #7 – A student logs into the school website to download the syllabus they lost. Are they breaking any rules or laws? Explain.
    No because he is just downloading something that the teacher gave and not something inappropriate or against the law. 


Scenario #8 – Students spend a good amount of time in class creating a web page for a school sponsored fundraiser. However, there website is not usable by certain individuals with disabilities. Was this disrespectful or wrong of them?
    It is disrespectful because they are being biased to other people with disabilities.


 Why do you think netiquette is important? Why are we using part of our class time for this?
   I think that this is important because using the computer is a privilege not a gift, if you don't use it correctly it will be taken away from you. If you do something against the law on the computer big consequences are taken into action. We are using part of class for this so that we can understand what it means to be able to use a computer, so that we can learn what can be used and what shouldn't be used. Why are we using it and to make us understand that everything that we use can be used to its full advantage without taking too much advantage. 

Pages

The application pages lets you make your own page and write about things that you want, add pics, make cards, posters, resumes, certificates, business cards, envelopes, flyers, brochures, newsletters, and much more. If you want to start from scratch you can choose a blank page and begin. You change the font, colors, templates, images, everything. Even though pages looks interesting i don't really like it that much. Pages seems to have originated from Microsoft Word, that had more things added to it. It has many of the features that Microsoft has, but overall you can have fun and enjoy it. You can even trick the smartest of people into thinking that you won an award signed by OBAMA! Pages lets you choose a template and layouts in order to make your work a bit better, although Microsoft makes it much easier to do all of this without getting confused. Overall Pages is a fun little app that many can enjoy and that can help them improve many thing

My Blog

Computer Hunt

The first thing I had to do was to answer a few questions about multimedia. Some involved experience with computers and many programs in the Mac. Speaking about Macs, I really don't like working with them, maybe its because I haven't had much experience or its just that Im a PC and definitely not a Mac. Well anyway the questions were easy and to the point, anyone could do it, and the results varied. Some questions showed that people already knew the programs in the Macs, almost everyone had experience with computers which is a good thing. The assignment was okay and I'm really looking forward to others. Even though I had to do it it was an okay assignment. Now that i learn where i am in computers, specifically macs, i can work on my skills in using the programs and learning about how the mac is different from pc's.
